There are so many things to do in Rome, that deciding where to start can be difficult. As with any travel destination, it is interesting to view the historical sites of the city, experiencing the local cuisine, as well as seeing some of the more modern attractions. There are a number sites that you must visit while on a sightseeing tour in Rome. Some of the most well known Roman sites are the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. Another major attraction is the Trevi Fountain; it is one of the many major landmarks in Rome. The fountain was completed in 1762 by Nicola Salvi. You will hear the fountain before you see it. The Trevi Fountain is grand and beautiful, and a nice place just to sit and watch the action taking place around you.

One place that you shouldn’t leave out is the Pantheon. The building was built in the early part of the second century; its original purpose was as a temple to the Roman Gods.

It is just as important to dine in Rome as it is to view the city. If you want to experience authentic Italian food, try visiting some of the small establishments visited by the locals.

If you want to taste amazing pizza, take a trip to Dar Poeta, it is one of the local’s favorites. Another favorite is Da Francesco; this restaurant is usually full, so make sure that you arrive early. One of the best restaurants in Rome is La Pergola; it has a wonderful atmosphere and view as well as spectacular Italian cuisine.

After experiencing the many historic sites, and enjoying a great dinner, the last thing to do before going to bed is to experience the nightlife in Rome. There is a specific area where all the clubs are located called Testaccio. For the most fun, get here after midnight as this is when the action starts. There are a variety of popular locations including the Akab, which features live music with an 80s theme. Brancaleone has a variety of entertainment options such as a bar with a stage hosting concerts, a recording studio and a cinema. Forte Prenestino is a unique club located in an old fortress building; it is surrounded by a moat and was built in the 1800’s. If you are here in the summer, you will get to experience one of their fantastic open air concerts. Piper is for the disco lovers, many Italian pop singers perform here.
